Tutorial on how to modify domain name resolution IP in namesilo
If you have just purchased a domain name, just select Skip from the Quick Cconfigure interface above. If you have not logged in yet, open the namesilo website, log in first, and then click on the domain manager on the right.
After logging in, enter the My Account interface and click Domain Manager in the left menu.
By default, a newly registered domain name will automatically set several resolutions, which we need to delete (from the domain name list, you can see that there is a bus icon at the end, which proves that the default resolution record is in effect, and we need to delete it manually.)
In the domain name list interface, click the map icon to modify the domain name resolution, and click the storage icon to modify the DNS server.
If domain name resolution is required, just click on the blue globe and enter the corresponding value in the resolution interface.
Daddy Tips:
Five resolution records will be automatically added for newly registered domain names, which can be deleted.
Usually, A records are added . Some service authentications require adding CNAME records. Just follow the prompts to add the corresponding values.
Add detailed analysis description:
In the above picture, Select the resource record type you want to create: A | AAAA | CNAME | MX | TXT/SPF | SRV | CAA, which allows us to select the type of resolution to be added. Usually, an A record is added. In some special cases, such as corporate email, you will be required to add an MX record. In this case, just click MX.
The HOSTNAME at 2 is where you fill in the secondary domain name. For a new website, we usually add two, just the resolution of www and @ (some domain name service providers will set it to @ by default if you don’t fill it in).
The 3rd place is to fill in the server IP. After you purchase the server or virtual host, you will see the corresponding IP on the server details page.
Some special parsing in the TTL area may ask you to fill in the corresponding value. If not required, just keep the default value of 7207.

When do I need to modify the DNS server?
Normally, we just need to keep the default DNS server.
You only need to change the DNS server in the following situations .
1. Use a third-party resolution service, such as DNSPOD.
DNSPod’s resolution takes effect faster than some default DNS servers, and paid packages can support more personalized resolution.
2. When using certain services, you need to change to the other party’s DNS server.
For example, when using certain CDN services, the CDN service provider requires you to change the DNS server of the domain name to theirs.
3. Change to the DNS of a hosting provider such as SiteGround that comes with its own domain name management. The domain name resolution will be automatically completed by the hosting provider, and you do not need to modify or add it manually.
After modifying the DNS server, you can only go to the corresponding website for domain name resolution, and the resolution on the purchased website will no longer be effective.
Tutorial on how to modify the DNS server of a domain name in namesilo
1. After logging in to namesilo, enter the domain name list page and click the storage icon behind the domain name to be modified, as shown below:
Tip: If you can’t see this icon but see the car icon, click the blue globe icon to delete all resolution records, and then you can see the DNS icon. (If you still can’t see it after deleting it, follow the steps below)
2. Click the storage icon to enter the namesilo domain name DNS modification interface, then delete the default 3 DNS servers, replace them with new DNS servers and save them.
By default, two new DNS servers must be filled in, and the third one is optional.
For example, if you want to change the DNS server to SiteGround , then fill in the DNS server address given to you by the SiteGround backend. Check the location as shown below:
Check the DNS location in the old version of SiteGround interface
New version of SiteGround View DNS server location
After changing the DNS to point to the IP, the website still cannot be opened?
After modifying the DNS resolution, a time is required for the change to take effect. This time varies depending on the DNS servers in different places. It usually ranges from a few hours to a few days.
To make DNS take effect faster, you can use a third-party public DNS server. Here you can refer to the resolution setting tutorial of Alibaba Public DNS.

How to determine whether DNS resolution is effective
The simplest method is to open the domain name you added for resolution. If it can be opened normally, it proves that it is effective. If it cannot be opened, it is not effective.
You can also manually ping the domain name to see if it works. The specific method is as follows:
Start – Run – Enter cmd and press Enter (You can also directly press WIN + R, enter cmd and press Enter)
ping www.baidu.com
Replace www.baidu.com with your own domain name and press Enter.
Results similar to the following will appear
C:\Users>ping www.baidu.com Pinging www.a.shifen.com [180.97.33.108] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 180.97.33.108: Bytes=32 Time=24ms TTL=55 Reply from 180.97.33.108: Bytes=32 Time=23ms TTL=55 Reply from 180.97.33.108: Bytes=32 Time=23ms TTL=55 Reply from 180.97.33.108: Bytes=32 Time=23ms TTL=55 Ping statistics for 180.97.33.108: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Estimated round trip time in milliseconds: Shortest = 23ms, Longest = 24ms, Average = 23ms
Check to see if the IP address is the one you set. If not, it will not work.
Of course, sometimes it may be a problem with the DNS cache. Enter the following command to clear the DNS cache.
ipconfig /flushdns
Clear it and try again.
The above is all about how to set up DNS and resolve domain names in namesilo. If you register a domain name with other service providers, the domain name resolution method is similar. Just add an A record for your server IP.
